Bio Fund Management (BioFund) was a leading venture capital firm based in Helsinki, Finland, that focused exclusively on the life sciences, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors. Established in 1997, the firm managed a series of funds known as Bio Fund Ventures I, II, and III, becoming one of the largest specialized healthcare investors in Northern Europe. The firm played a pivotal role in the development of the Nordic biotech ecosystem by providing critical early-stage and growth capital to innovative companies. Its portfolio featured prominent Finnish and Scandinavian entities, including Biotie Therapies, Juvantia Pharma, and Carbion. In 2008, BioFund was acquired by CapMan, a major Nordic private equity asset manager, to serve as the foundation for its dedicated healthcare investment team.
