Company intelligence / Profile preview
Bio-Intermediair was a pioneering European contract manufacturing organization (CMO) specializing in the production of biopharmaceuticals. Founded in the Netherlands, the company focused on the development and large-scale manufacturing of recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies using mammalian cell culture and microbial fermentation technologies. It played a significant role in the early growth of the biotechnology industry by providing outsourced production capacity to pharmaceutical and emerging biotech companies. The company was acquired by DSM in 1996, eventually becoming the foundation for DSM Biologics. Through subsequent industry consolidation, its operations were integrated into Patheon and eventually became part of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
