BioCircuits is a medical technology company that developed the BioSense platform, a point-of-care digital immunoassay system. The platform is designed to provide laboratory-grade results for critical care biomarkers in minutes, significantly reducing the turnaround time compared to traditional central labs. Its core technology utilizes a proprietary approach to miniaturize high-sensitivity assays for use in emergency departments and intensive care units. Key applications for the BioSense system include the rapid detection of procalcitonin for sepsis management and troponin for cardiac event assessment. In late 2021, BioCircuits was acquired by BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) to expand its diagnostic portfolio in the acute care segment.
