BioDevek is a private biomaterials and medical device company developing tissue-responsive, degradable hydrogel technologies for surgical and endoscopic applications. Its lead product, GastroShield, is designed to provide rapid hemostasis and durable mucosal protection during gastrointestinal endoscopy, particularly for bleeding control and shielding high-risk lesions. The company’s core platform consists of sprayable or injectable biomaterials that adhere to wet tissue, remain transparent for visualization, and degrade in a controlled manner. BioDevek emerged from more than a decade of MIT materials science and tissue engineering research and is applying its platform to improve healing and reduce complications after internal procedures. The platform may also support localized drug delivery in future applications.
