Biofisica was a medical technology company focused on the development of bioelectric therapies to enhance the healing of chronic and acute wounds. The company's core technology, the POSiFECT bioelectric dressing, was designed to mimic the body's natural electrical signals that are often diminished in chronic wounds, thereby promoting cell migration and tissue regeneration. This non-invasive device targeted high-need indications including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, and venous leg ulcers. In 2011, Smith & Nephew acquired the assets of Biofisica to integrate its innovative bioelectric signal technology into their global advanced wound management portfolio.
