BioGel Technology

BioGel Technology was a private U.S. biomaterials and drug-delivery company focused on polymer science applications in biotechnology, bioengineering, medical science, and industrial pharmacy. The company developed controlled-release systems, biodegradable microparticles and nanoparticles, biomaterials, and bioadhesive technologies, and also provided technical services to other companies using polymers in medical and pharmaceutical applications. Its known R&D included chemotherapeutic drug delivery, biodegradable PLGA/PLAGA particle systems, and a vaginal drug-delivery program supported through SBIR awards. Available evidence indicates the company was founded in 1991, operated from Indianapolis, Indiana, and was later sold in 2002. Corporate records now indicate the Indiana entity is voluntarily dissolved, so it does not appear to be an active operating company today.
