Biojet Medical Technologies

Bioject Medical Technologies was a medical device and drug-delivery company focused on needle-free jet injection systems for administering liquid medications, vaccines, and biologics. Its products and technology were designed to deliver drugs through the skin without a needle by creating a high-pressure fluid stream. The company commercialized jet injector products and also licensed its delivery technology to pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners. Bioject was not a therapeutics developer with a conventional drug pipeline; rather, it was a platform/device company supporting drug and vaccine administration. In 2016, Inovio Pharmaceuticals acquired substantially all of Bioject's assets to combine Bioject's needle-free injection technology with Inovio's electroporation-based delivery approach.
