BioMADE

BioMADE is a nonprofit public-private partnership catalyzed by the U.S. Department of Defense in 2020. It serves as the nation’s leading driver for building a sustainable, domestic end-to-end bioindustrial manufacturing ecosystem. Its mission is to enable domestic bioindustrial manufacturing at all scales, de-risk investment in infrastructure, expand workforce development, and accelerate commercialization of modern biotechnology products—especially those using engineered microbes—to create chemicals, materials, textiles, fuels, bioplastics and more. It operates as a consortium with nearly 300 members across industry, academia, government agencies and nonprofits.
