Biomatz

Biomatz is a South Korean biotechnology company specializing in the design and development of microbiome-based therapeutics and solutions. Founded in 2022 as a spin-off from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), the company utilizes its proprietary AI-driven platform, BASyMCo (Bespoke Assembly of a Synthetic Microbial Consortium), to analyze ecological interactions among thousands of microbial strains and design optimal complex microbial consortia. Biomatz is leveraging this platform to develop next-generation live biotherapeutic products (LBPs), with a primary therapeutic focus on oncology and cancer immunotherapy. The company has established key research collaborations with leading institutions, including Samsung Medical Center and POSTECH, to advance its pre-clinical pipeline of complex strain immunotherapies.
