Company intelligence / Profile preview
Biomeasure Inc. was the U.S.-based research and development subsidiary of the French pharmaceutical group Ipsen. Founded in 1976 and originally based in Milford, Massachusetts, the company specialized in the discovery and development of peptide-based therapeutics and recombinant proteins. Its research efforts focused on endocrinology, oncology, and neurology, leading to the development of several significant drug candidates, including the somatostatin analog BIM-23244 and the ghrelin agonist relamorelin. In 2014, the company was rebranded as Ipsen Bioscience and relocated its R&D operations to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to better integrate with the region's biotechnology hub. The company's legacy includes the development of abaloparatide (Tymlos), which was licensed to Radius Health and approved for the treatment of osteoporosis.
