Biomedical Sciences Investment Fund (BMSIF) is a Singapore-based venture capital fund established in 2000 by the Economic Development Board (EDB) to spearhead the development of the nation's biomedical sciences cluster. Managed by Bio*One Capital (now integrated into EDBI), the fund focuses on strategic investments in global life science companies across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical technology sectors. BMSIF's primary objective is to foster a vibrant biomedical ecosystem in Singapore by attracting international companies to establish local R&D and manufacturing operations. The fund has a diverse portfolio of investments across the United States, Europe, and Asia, featuring companies such as Revance Therapeutics, Codexis, and Broncus. BMSIF played a foundational role in the 'Biomedical Sciences Initiative,' which aimed to position Singapore as a leading global hub for life sciences and healthcare innovation. Today, its legacy and ongoing investment activities are managed under the EDBI umbrella.
