BioNevia was a private clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing therapies for diabetes-associated diseases, particularly diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Its lead known program was diepalrestat, also referred to as BNV-222, a novel extended-release cocrystal formulation related to epalrestat and designed to inhibit aldose reductase.
