Bioniche Animal Health was a prominent developer and manufacturer of veterinary biopharmaceutical products, primarily focused on livestock and equine health. The company was widely recognized for its expertise in reproductive technologies, including its market-leading follicle-stimulating hormone product, Folltropin-V, used for superovulation in cattle. Headquartered in Belleville, Ontario, it operated manufacturing facilities in Canada, the United States, and Australia. In April 2014, the division was acquired by the French veterinary giant Vetoquinol for approximately 61 million CAD. This strategic divestment allowed its parent company, Bioniche Life Sciences, to pivot toward human therapeutics, while Vetoquinol integrated the portfolio to bolster its global reproductive health offerings.
