Bioniche Pharma Group was a global specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development, manufacturing, and marketing of injectable pharmaceutical products. The company maintained a diverse portfolio of proprietary and generic products across therapeutic areas such as orthopedics, rheumatology, urology, and dermatology. Based in Galway, Ireland, Bioniche Pharma was particularly known for its expertise in sterile injectable technology and its lead product, Suplasyn, used for the treatment of osteoarthritis. In September 2010, the company was acquired by Mylan for $550 million, a move that significantly bolstered Mylan's injectable drug offerings. Prior to its acquisition by Mylan, the company was a portfolio company of CCMP Capital, having been divested from Bioniche Life Sciences in 2006.
