BioPartners Holdings

BioPartners is a Swiss-based biopharmaceutical company that specializes in the development and commercialization of biosimilar versions of complex biological medicines. Founded in 2000, the company was a pioneer in the European biosimilar landscape, achieving one of the first-ever European approvals for a biosimilar somatropin (Valtropin). Its portfolio has historically focused on recombinant proteins, including biosimilar versions of interferon beta-1a and interferon alpha-2a. In 2007, BioPartners was acquired by the Polish pharmaceutical company Bioton S.A., which utilized the acquisition to expand its presence in the global biologics and biosimilars market.
