Bioreason

Bioreason was a bioinformatics company that specialized in developing automated reasoning and data mining software for drug discovery. The company's core technology, ClassPharmer, enabled pharmaceutical researchers to analyze large-scale chemical datasets to identify structure-activity relationships and prioritize lead compounds. By automating the classification of chemical structures, Bioreason's tools helped streamline the transition from high-throughput screening to lead optimization. The company was acquired by Syrrx in 2001 to bolster Syrrx's high-throughput structural biology and proteomics capabilities. Following the acquisition, its technologies were integrated into the Syrrx discovery platform, which was later acquired by Takeda.
