Biosensors International is a Singapore-headquartered medical device company focused primarily on interventional cardiology and selected critical care products. The company designs, manufactures, and markets coronary stent systems, including drug-eluting and drug-coated stents built around its proprietary Biolimus A9 drug technology and surface/coating platforms. Its marketed portfolio includes BioMatrix Alpha, BioFreedom, BioFreedom Ultra, RISE NC, RISE SC, and BioMC, with commercialization primarily outside the United States. Biosensors was founded in 1990, was formerly publicly listed in Singapore, and was acquired in 2016 by a CITIC-led vehicle; its current ultimate parent is Blue Sail Medical.
