BioSource International was a leading provider of functional genomics and proteomics products used in drug discovery and biomedical research. The company specialized in the development and manufacture of antibodies, ELISA kits, recombinant proteins, and multiplex assays for the detection of cytokines and signal transduction molecules. Headquartered in Camarillo, California, BioSource served academic, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology researchers worldwide. In 2005, the company was acquired by Invitrogen Corporation for approximately $130 million. Its technologies were subsequently integrated into the Life Technologies brand and eventually into Thermo Fisher Scientific.
