Biossance

Biossance is a commercial clean-skincare brand focused on science-backed, vegan skin care products built around sugarcane-derived squalane. The brand was originally developed out of Amyris's industrial biotechnology capabilities and emphasizes sustainable ingredient sourcing, fermentation-enabled formulation, and prestige skincare positioning. Its product portfolio includes moisturizers, serums, cleansers, sunscreens, eye treatments, oils, masks, and lip care sold direct-to-consumer and through retail partners. In December 2023, Biossance was acquired by THG from Amyris following Amyris's Chapter 11 proceedings, and the brand continues to operate as an active prestige skincare business under THG Beauty.
