Biosym Technologies

Biosym Technologies was a pioneering company in the field of computer-aided molecular design (CAMD) and molecular modeling software for the life sciences and materials industries. Founded in 1984, the company developed industry-standard simulation tools such as Insight II, Discover, and Catalyst, which enabled researchers to visualize and predict molecular interactions at an atomic level. These technologies were instrumental in the early adoption of rational drug design by major pharmaceutical companies. In 1995, Biosym merged with Molecular Simulations Inc. (MSI) to form Biosym/MSI, which eventually became Accelrys and is now part of Dassault Systèmes' BIOVIA brand.
