Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Biosystems Informatics Institute (BII) was a UK-based research and technology organization focused on bioinformatics and systems biology. Established in 2001 in Newcastle upon Tyne, it aimed to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application in the life sciences sector. The institute provided data analysis, software development, and computational modeling services to help pharmaceutical and biotech companies manage complex biological data. It was a key component of the North East of England's regional development initiative to foster a biotechnology cluster. BII eventually ceased operations and was formally dissolved in 2009.
