Biotec-Cuba

BioCubaFarma is the state-owned Cuban organization that manages the country's biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Established in 2012, it consolidates over 30 research and production centers, including the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) and the Center of Molecular Immunology (CIM). The group is internationally recognized for developing innovative biopharmaceuticals, such as the CIMAvax-EGF lung cancer vaccine and Heberprot-P for diabetic foot ulcers. BioCubaFarma operates a vertically integrated model, overseeing everything from basic research and clinical trials to high-tech manufacturing and global distribution. Its portfolio includes vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, generic medicines, and medical equipment exported to more than 50 countries. The organization plays a critical role in Cuba's healthcare system while maintaining significant international partnerships and joint ventures, particularly in China and India.
