The Biotech Development Fund (BDF) is a venture capital investment vehicle established through a strategic partnership between Hillhouse Investment and Pfizer. The fund focuses on backing high-growth biotechnology companies, particularly those leveraging artificial intelligence and advanced biologics platforms for drug discovery. Notable investments include participation in the $787 million financing of Earendil Labs and the Series A rounds for Syneron Bio. By combining Hillhouse's investment expertise with Pfizer's industry leadership, the fund aims to accelerate the development of first-in-class and best-in-class therapeutic programs across various modalities, including antibodies and peptides.
