Biotech Research Ventures

Biotech Research Ventures (BRV) was a Singapore-based technology transfer and venture development firm established in 2001 to commercialize life sciences research. The company was formed as a joint venture between the UK's Cancer Research Ventures (now Cancer Research Horizons), the National Cancer Centre of Singapore (NCC), and Double Helix, a subsidiary of Singapore Technologies. BRV focused on identifying promising academic discoveries, particularly in oncology, and transforming them into commercial opportunities through intellectual property management, licensing, and the creation of spin-off companies such as Qugen Therapeutics and Systome Therapeutics. Although the firm was dissolved in 2017, it played a foundational role in the early growth of Singapore's biotechnology sector by bridging the gap between laboratory research and clinical application.
