BioValve Technologies

BioValve Technologies was a medical device and drug delivery company focused on developing micro-needle and micro-infusion systems for the subcutaneous administration of therapeutics. The company's proprietary Micro-Trans technology utilized arrays of micro-needles to provide a painless alternative to traditional syringe injections, particularly for large molecule biologics and vaccines. Its flagship development efforts led to the creation of the h-Patch platform, which became the basis for the V-Go Wearable Insulin Delivery device. BioValve's innovations sought to improve patient compliance and therapeutic efficacy in chronic conditions such as diabetes and growth hormone deficiency. In 2006, the company merged with Valeritas to further commercialize its delivery platforms, and its legacy technology was eventually integrated into the portfolio of Zealand Pharma.
