Biovelop was a Swedish biotechnology company specializing in the fractionation of oats to produce high-value ingredients for the food, beverage, and cosmetics industries. The company developed a proprietary, chemical-free technology to extract oat beta-glucan, which was marketed under the brand name Avenacare. These ingredients are widely used in skincare for their soothing and anti-aging properties, as well as in food products for their heart health benefits. In 2013, Biovelop was acquired by Tate & Lyle, a global leader in specialty food ingredients. The acquisition allowed Tate & Lyle to enhance its health and wellness portfolio with sustainable, plant-based solutions.
