BioVeris Corporation was a healthcare company specializing in the development of proprietary technology for diagnostics and biological detection. The company's primary focus was its electrochemoluminescence (ECL) technology, which provided high sensitivity and a broad dynamic range for detecting biological substances in various samples. This technology was widely utilized in clinical diagnostics, life science research, and biodefense applications. BioVeris offered a suite of instruments, assays, and consumables to laboratories and healthcare providers globally. In 2007, the company was acquired by Roche for approximately $600 million, allowing Roche to gain full control over the ECL technology that powered its Elecsys product line. Following the merger, BioVeris's operations and intellectual property were integrated into Roche Diagnostics.
