Bioversity

Bioversity is a non-profit organization launched by MassBio to provide free, industry-aligned certificate programs that prepare underrepresented populations for entry-level jobs in the Massachusetts life sciences sector. Since its launch in January 2024, it has graduated over 77 students—96% of whom are Black and/or Latino—with average post-graduation incomes doubling compared to pre-enrollment. The program includes hands-on lab experience, professional development, job placement assistance, and strong partnerships with local biopharma employers such as AbbVie, Abcam, Foundation Medicine, Flagship Lab Services, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
