Birth By Us

Birth By Us provides a digital application focused on improving pregnancy and postpartum outcomes for Black women and their families. The app offers daily wellness check-ins, symptom tracking, personalized recommendations, curated resources specific to the Black birthing experience, at-home monitoring between appointments up to one year postpartum. It aims to reduce healthcare disparities by increasing access to prenatal/postnatal visits and early detection of complications. The company has demonstrated willingness-to-pay among users and secured funding from grants such as the Telehealth Equity Catalyst Award ($27k) and additional funding ($40k). It partners with employers, providers/hospitals/birthing centers via subscription models. No clinical results in the sense of drug trials; impact measured by user engagement metrics and improved perinatal outcomes. Collaborates with UC Davis Health on telehealth programs targeting perinatal equity. Focuses on SDG 3.1 goal of reducing global maternal mortality ratio below 70 per 100k live births by 2030.
