Bookham, Inc. (formerly Bookham Technology) was a leading designer and manufacturer of optical components, modules, and subsystems. While primarily known for its telecommunications infrastructure products, the company provided high-performance laser solutions and optical devices for the life sciences, industrial, and scientific markets. Its life science offerings included specialized lasers used in applications such as DNA sequencing, flow cytometry, and medical imaging. In 2009, Bookham merged with Avanex Corporation to form Oclaro, which was subsequently acquired by Lumentum in 2018.
