Company intelligence / Profile preview
Blackmont Capital was a Canadian investment dealer and wealth management firm that provided capital markets services, including equity research and investment banking. While the firm was not a biotechnology or life sciences company itself, it was highly active in the sector as a service provider, offering specialized research and financing for biotech and medical technology firms. The company was originally established as Rockwater Capital and rebranded to Blackmont Capital in 2005. In 2007, it was acquired by CI Financial, and subsequently sold to Macquarie Group in 2009. Following the acquisition by Macquarie, the firm's operations were integrated into Macquarie Private Wealth Canada, and the Blackmont brand was retired.
