Its laboratory division, previously operating as Blood Systems Laboratories, provides essential blood donor testing, specialty diagnostics, and transfusion medicine research. The organization operates a vast network of blood centers and high-volume testing laboratories that ensure the safety and availability of the blood supply for thousands of hospitals nationwide. Through its Vitalant Research Institute, the company leads significant studies in infectious disease surveillance and blood safety. Vitalant also co-owns Creative Testing Solutions, the largest blood donor testing organization in the world.
