Blue Biofuels

Blue Biofuels has demonstrated successful conversion of various biomass feedstocks—including king grass, sugarcane bagasse, and corn stover—into fermentable sugars using its CTS process. These sugars have been fermented into ethanol in high yield at the pilot scale. The company’s patented technology shows flexibility across different feedstocks with no harmful byproducts inhibiting fermentation. Engineering plans are underway for a commercial facility targeting an annual output of three million gallons of biofuel. The company holds seven granted patents with an additional twenty-five pending as of June 2025. A U.S. Department of Energy grant supports their current facility development.
