Borden Chemical was a major American industrial chemical manufacturer that specialized in the production of thermoset resins, adhesives, and formaldehyde. Originally a division of the food and industrial conglomerate Borden, Inc., the company became a global leader in resins for the forest products, foundry, and electronics industries. In 2004, the company was acquired by Apollo Global Management and subsequently merged with Bakelite, Resolution Performance Products, and Resolution Specialty Materials in 2005 to form Hexion Specialty Chemicals. While primarily an industrial chemical entity, its products provided foundational materials for various manufacturing sectors, including medical packaging and laboratory supplies. Today, its legacy continues as part of Hexion Inc., one of the world's largest producers of thermoset resins.
