Boveran

Boveran Diagnostics, Inc. was a biotechnology company focused on the development of automated cancer detection technologies based on the chromosomal imbalance (aneuploidy) theory of cancer. Founded by scientists Peter Duesberg and David Rasnick, the company's core technology, the iCyte system (later renamed Anucyte), utilized automated fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) to identify chromosomal abnormalities in cell samples. The company claimed its technology could provide a more objective and accurate diagnosis of cancer compared to traditional pathology by detecting the single trait common to all forms of cancer. Boveran was acquired by Modern Technology Corp in 2006, but the technology faced significant scientific skepticism and the company eventually became inactive.
