Bpifrance

Bpifrance is the French public investment bank and sovereign fund created in 2013 through the merger of several state-backed entities. It provides financing solutions—including loans, guarantees, equity investments, and export credit—to support French businesses at every stage of growth. While not a biotech or pharma company itself, it plays a major role as an investor and supporter of innovation in life sciences by managing multiple venture capital funds dedicated to biotech and medtech start-ups across therapeutic areas such as oncology, rare diseases, cardiovascular disease, neurology/ophthalmology and infectious diseases. It also operates government innovation programs like France 2030 that provide non-dilutive funding for drug development by French biotechs.
