BrachySciences was a medical technology company specializing in the development and distribution of brachytherapy products for the treatment of prostate cancer. The company was best known for its AnchorSeed technology, which utilized a specialized design to prevent seed migration after implantation, thereby improving the precision of internal radiation therapy. In addition to its proprietary products, BrachySciences served as a major distributor of radioactive seeds and delivery systems in the United States. The company was acquired by Biocompatibles International in 2008 for approximately $25.4 million. Its operations were later integrated into BTG and subsequently Boston Scientific following further industry consolidations.
