Brage Medical is a medical device innovation company based in Buffalo, New York, focused on the neurovascular space. The company was founded by a team of prominent neurosurgeons and engineers, including Dr. L. Nelson Hopkins, to address technical challenges in interventional procedures. Brage Medical specializes in developing advanced catheter technologies that improve procedural efficiency and patient safety, particularly in the treatment of stroke. Its first major success, the Rist Selective Curvature Catheter, was specifically engineered for transradial access in neurovascular interventions. This technology was spun out into Rist Medical, which was subsequently acquired by Medtronic in 2020.
