Company intelligence / Profile preview
Branchpoint Technologies was a medical device company that developed the Aura ICP Monitoring System, the first FDA-cleared wireless, fully implantable telemetric pressure sensor for neurocritical care. The system was designed to provide continuous intracranial pressure monitoring without the need for percutaneous wires, thereby reducing infection risks and improving patient mobility. Founded in 2011 and backed by investors like Versant Ventures, the company aimed to improve the management of traumatic brain injury and hydrocephalus. Although the technology received regulatory clearance in 2015, the company has since ceased active operations and was officially dissolved in 2021.
