Company intelligence / Profile preview
Brandywine Hospital was a 171-bed acute care facility located in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, that provided a wide range of medical, surgical, and behavioral health services. For over a century, it served as a primary healthcare hub for the Chester County community before being acquired by Tower Health in 2017. The hospital was particularly noted for its comprehensive behavioral health programs and its status as a primary stroke center. Following financial difficulties within the Tower Health system and a failed divestiture attempt, the hospital officially closed its doors in January 2022. In 2023, the University of Pennsylvania Health System (Penn Medicine) acquired the campus with plans to repurpose the facility for veteran-focused healthcare services.
