Breast Cancer Network of Strength was a prominent national non-profit organization dedicated to providing immediate emotional support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer. Founded in 1978 as the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, it was best known for its 24/7 peer-support hotline, which was uniquely staffed by breast cancer survivors. The organization offered a wide range of services, including peer counseling, educational programs, and advocacy for improved healthcare access. Despite its long-standing reputation and significant impact on patient support, the organization ceased all operations and filed for bankruptcy in June 2012 due to severe financial difficulties. Its legacy remains a cornerstone in the history of patient-led breast cancer advocacy and support services.
