Brentwood Biomedical Research Institute

Brentwood Biomedical Research Institute (BBRI) is a non-profit research organization dedicated to supporting the research and educational missions of the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. Established as a 501(c)(3) corporation, BBRI facilitates a wide range of biomedical and health services research, ranging from basic laboratory science to multi-center clinical trials. The institute focuses on health issues prevalent among veterans, including post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, oncology, and chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. By managing research grants and fostering collaborations between the VA and academic or industry partners, BBRI plays a critical role in advancing medical care for the veteran population.
