Overview

George A. Breon & Company was a mid-20th-century pharmaceutical firm that specialized in the development and marketing of injectable medications and respiratory therapies. Originally established in Kansas City, the company became a subsidiary of Sterling Drug Inc., where it managed a diverse portfolio of specialty products including bronchodilators, hormones, and vitamins. One of its most recognized products was Bronkephrine, used for the treatment of bronchial asthma. Following the acquisition of Sterling Drug by Eastman Kodak and the eventual divestiture to Sanofi, the Breon entity was integrated into larger corporate structures and the brand name was retired.
