Breon Laboratories was a prominent American pharmaceutical company that operated as a subsidiary of Sterling Drug, specializing in the development and marketing of respiratory, anesthetic, and nutritional products. The company was widely recognized for its commercial portfolio, which included well-known brands such as Bronkaid for asthma and Fergon for iron deficiency. In the mid-1980s, Breon was merged with Winthrop Laboratories to form the Winthrop-Breon Laboratories division of Sterling Winthrop. Following the acquisition of Sterling Drug by Eastman Kodak and the subsequent divestiture of its pharmaceutical assets in the 1990s, Breon's product lines were integrated into global firms like Sanofi and SmithKline Beecham.
