Company intelligence / Profile preview
Brightstone Pharma, Inc. was a pharmaceutical company that served as the U.S. marketing and distribution subsidiary of the UK-based Skyepharma. The company specialized in the commercialization of generic pharmaceutical products, most notably a generic version of the controlled-release naproxen sodium (Naprelan) and the x-ray contrast agent Iopamidol. Brightstone was notably involved in significant Hatch-Waxman patent litigation and Federal Trade Commission investigations regarding market competition for generic drugs in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Following the acquisition of its parent company, Skyepharma, by Vectura in 2016, Brightstone's operations were integrated into the larger corporate structure.
