Brookfield Medical Corporation was a medical device company based in Minnetonka, Minnesota, specializing in the development of endourethral prostheses. The company's flagship product, the UroLume endourethral Wallstent, was designed to treat urethral strictures and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) by providing a permanent scaffold to maintain luminal patency. Founded in 1989, the company became a pioneer in the urological stent market and successfully navigated the FDA approval process for its permanent stent technology. In 1996, Brookfield Medical was acquired by UroHealth Systems, and through subsequent mergers, its technology eventually became part of the urology portfolio at Boston Scientific.
