Company intelligence / Profile preview
Brooks Pharmacy was a U.S. retail pharmacy chain that operated more than 330 drugstores across New England and New York. The business focused on community pharmacy services and front-of-store health, beauty, and general merchandise retail rather than drug development or biotech R&D. Brooks became a well-known regional pharmacy brand in the northeastern United States and expanded through acquisitions, including City Drug and certain Osco Drug stores in New England. The chain was ultimately acquired by Rite Aid, and the Brooks brand was retired in 2007 after store conversions. For biotech and pharma intelligence purposes, this is a commercial healthcare retail company rather than a therapeutics developer.
