C-Dots Nanotec is a Brazilian biotechnology company specializing in the development and production of carbon-based quantum dots, commonly referred to as Carbon Dots. The company utilizes a proprietary platform to synthesize these biocompatible nanoparticles, which serve as high-performance fluorescent markers for bioimaging and molecular diagnostics. Unlike traditional metallic quantum dots, the company's Carbon Dots offer significantly lower toxicity and superior photostability, making them suitable for live-cell imaging and in vivo applications. The technology is a spin-off from research conducted at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM).
