Afexa Life Sciences, formerly known as C. V. Technologies, is a Canadian biopharmaceutical company that specialized in the development of evidence-based natural health products. The company is most famous for creating COLD-FX, a proprietary North American ginseng extract that became Canada's best-selling cold and flu remedy. Afexa utilized its proprietary ChemBioPrint technology to standardize the chemical profile and biological activity of its herbal products, ensuring clinical consistency. Founded by Dr. Jacqueline Shan and Dr. Peter Pang at the University of Alberta, the company emphasized rigorous scientific validation through clinical trials. In 2011, the company was acquired by Valeant Pharmaceuticals for approximately $76 million. Today, its products continue to be marketed under the Bausch Health umbrella.
