Company intelligence / Profile preview
C8 MediSensors developed the first non-invasive continuous glucose monitor using Raman spectroscopy to measure blood glucose through the skin. Their flagship product, the HG1-c Optical Glucose Monitor System, received CE Mark approval in Europe in October 2012. Clinical studies showed accuracy comparable to early invasive CGMs but with less pain and risk. The company aimed to commercialize across Europe but did not achieve US regulatory approval and appears inactive as of recent years.
